Rare seeds from a personal garden
Rare Tomato Vault is a labour of love — preserving rare heirloom varieties from around the world, grown and hand-saved in Indian soil.
Nagapuram, Andhra Pradesh, IndiaA sanctuary for rare, forgotten varieties
Rare Tomato Vault began as the personal seed collection of Daram Anil Kumar — a hobby gardener growing the rare and the unusual in Nagapuram, Pedapurudi Mandal, Gudivada rural, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh.
He is joined by fellow seed savers Gundimeda Sai Durga Prasad from Gudivada and K Sandeep from Avanigadda, who grow heirloom varieties and share seeds with the vault to sell here.
It all began with a single tomato you would never find on a shop shelf. That one fruit turned into a quiet obsession, and the obsession into a mission — to protect the remarkable biodiversity of Heirloom vegetables, the varieties that carry stories, history and a depth of flavour no supermarket can match.
Today the vault holds rare Tomatoes, Peppers, traditional Desi seeds and Pollinator-friendly flowers — each one grown, tested and hand-saved right here in Indian soil, chosen to thrive in gardens like yours.
“Every seed tells a story, and every harvest keeps a rare lineage alive.”
